11MayTuna’s a Married Man Now

Went to Bobby’s wedding yesterday and had a rockin’ good time. Gorgeous, simply beyond beautiful wedding. Every part of it was rockin’. P.S. Rockin’ apparently is my new word as I’ve found myself using it a lot lately. I don’t know if that’s an upgrade or downgrade from “rad.” Late though it has come I’ve made a resolution to post more detail about tIMG_6119tp.jpghe pics I post, hence the recent spate of blogitude from me.

And now to the point of this post. Pictures!!Oh yes I took a ton of pictures yesterday, but as I was having such a good time, they’re all a little snap-shoty but I love ‘em.

First up. Evan and Traci ( hmm… so many ways her name could be spelled, could be I should be using a “y” an “ie” or “ey” at the end of that. Sorry if I spelled your name wrong Traci).

This was taken outside the Church after the ceremony was over and we were on the way out.

03MayLife in Black and White

Since upgrading to CS3 I lost all my old photoshop actions. I spent today working on re-creating my black and white ones. Mostly this means there are pictures galore to post. I thought I’d do that in one fell swoop.

1. Fiona
-This was taken at Fort Desoto just before we were leaving for the day. Fiona is the daughter of a friend that went with us.

2. Beth
-I really like this shot. While I enjoy abstract and take a fair amount of it, very rarely do I complete processing and post. From the moment I saw this shot out of camera I’ve been planning to convert it to black and white. All the tonal ranges just seemed to fit for me.

Just Sydney. Taken just the day after her two month mark. Warm toned black and whites. I need to get some prints made of pictures of Sydney. I have a lot of them of Chloe but that will change soon. Now I just need to get frames. Hah.

I’m not normally one for photo books but I saw a reference to this referred to at Shoot The Blog and loved the very first picture shown, and then went to the website and was very tempted to purchase a print. But most likely I won’t be able to afford it, and then paying for the framing would just be uber expensive. Love.

16AprBasic bits o’ fluff

So I’ve been severely remiss lately with this. Truth is I got a bit discouraged and dissatisfied with the way it was shaping up and took a break. Things always seem to work a little better for me, once I let myself step back and gain some perspective. Added a new theme, that I’m beyond happy with.

Moving on.

Lots of stuff happening lately with me.

First- I’ve started back to work, and boy talk about hitting the ground running. I walked right into a layoff. Thankfully I was one of the lucky who are still gainfully employed but, it’s not an easy process to get past. Overall outside the plus of being employed the whole thing really kinda sucks.
Second- I’ve been running for the past 5 weeks to see if I can do anything to get rid of all this baby weight I gained. So far I’ve lost 25lbs since giving birth but that still leaves me a long way to go, and right now everything seems pretty insurmountable. Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying the running. I hate every fucking step of it I take, but I love the feeling I get after it’s all over and done with. I’ve even signed up for a 5k in June so I have no reason to slack.
Third- Photographed Kevin and Amanda’s wedding. It was good times, and a good learning experience and I learned a hell of a lot from it. I came out of it with a ton of pictures I’m pleased with, and now that I have a renewed commitment to this blog I’ll be posting way more often. Both photos and just me -blah ness.
